Xiaomi, the Apple of China, has always been an avid fan of Apple Inc. From smartphones with iOS-like user interface, the Chinese company now has a notebook that may be an alternative to the MacBook. The Mi Notebook family was launched today, and they look pretty good. The company has been rumored lately to be working on its own notebook, the claim has now been validated with two super-thin Mi Notebook Air models.
The Mi Notebook Air is a Windows 10 laptop that packs a 1080p display and comes in two variants. There’s a bigger 13.3-inch version that sells for about $750 and a smaller 12.5-inch version that sells for $525.
13.3-inch Mi Notebook Air Specifications
The 13.3-inch model comes with an Intel Core i5-6200U processor and NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics. With a thickness of only 0.6-inches, the notebooks weights just 2.8 pounds. It comes with 256GB of PCIe SSD, a SATA slot for expansion, 8GB RAM and a 40Wh battery. According to the manufacturer, this should last for about 9 hours.

The smaller 12.5-inch version comes with an Intel Core M3 processor, but there is no dedicated Graphic Processing Unit. It ships with 4GB RAM, 128GB SATA SSD, an expansion slot and a 37Wh battery that should last up to 11.5 hours.

The Notebook will be available in China from August 2nd, but there is no information yet about when it would become available globally. However, it shouldn’t take long before resellers start offering it on websites like Aliexpress.
