I started using iOS not too long ago and decided to start with an iPhone 3G. Being a Symbian OS user for years, I do play games on my mobile phone once in a while even though some often argue that it should be a mobile phone and not a gaming device. I possibly can’t make calls with it 24/7 and I can’t carry an XBOX in my pocket all day. I don’t use IM too that much and that leaves me a little time to toy around with my jailbroken device when I’m not busy.
There’s a little problem with iPhone 3G though: It’s becoming obsolete because it doesn’t support retina display. The best iPhone games on App Store only support iPhone 3GS upwards but there are still some cool games you can run on that iPhone 3G.
1. Splinter Cell Conviction
This game has a really astounding HD graphics and was described as the benchmark of action stealth games on console available for the first time on iPhone & iPod Touch! Despite the graphics and everything, it supports almost all iPhones starting from iOS 3.1.2 and later.
2. Pro Evolution Soccer 2012
FIFA 12 probably has better graphics than PES 2012 like someone said but since it doesn’t run on iPhone 3G, I wouldn’t know. At least, I’ve compared Real Football and PES 2012 to know which is better. With full commentary and a pretty nice display, I can experience what it feels like to make Arsenal win the UEFA Champions League. PES 2012 is a game you should have on your iPhone if you like football. đŸ˜€
3. James Cameron’s Avatar
If you’ve watched the Avatar movie, you’ll definitely find the game very interesting though the game story line doesn’t strictly follow the movie.
4. Prince of Persia (Warrior Within)
As described by Touchaholics, “Prince of Persia: Warrior Within truly is an awesome experience.” The game got me hooked for quite a while. The Graphics look very okay on iPhone 3G but even better on iPhone 4 because of the retina display. But it works on even on iOS 3.1.2 and later.
5. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
When I saw this game in Apps Store, I had to buy it right away. Just a decade ago, I used to play the same game on my SEGA console, back in high school days. Having it on my iPhone gives me that nostalgic feeling. It’s a cool game for those that like combats.
6. Gangsta Miami Vindication
I love gangsta games, just don’t ask me why. đŸ™‚ If you’re the type that loves to play Grand Theft Auto on PC, this looks like a mobile GTA you’re just going to like.
7. Gangsta: West Coast Hustle
This an older version of the Gangsta games and I even play it a lot more than I play the newer one. It’s fun and very addictive.
8. Hero of Sparta 2
This is yet another HD game with stunning graphics that’s compatible with all iPhones with iOS 3.1 and later. The game play isn’t that hard and you may find the story line a bit interesting.
9. Angry Birds
Being one of the most popular games in recent times, I’m sure Angry Birds needs no introduction. It’s a silly game that’s quite addictive and fun to play. Just get angry and kill the pigs!
10. Brothers in Arms (Hour of Heroes)
The game doesn’t thrill me that much because it looks very much like the N-Gage version I used to play on my old Nokia N95. It’s a war game and the graphics isn’t that bad. I checked the latest Brothers in Arms game for iOS but sadly, my iPhone 3G isn’t supported. I’m stuck with it and just kept it on my phone.
