This sounds rather weird but a certain article on DigiTimes claims a Taiwanese store is selling iPad Pro loaded with Windows 10. According to the report, Data Express which is a premium retailer of Apple products is selling the new iPad Pro with Windows 10 pre-installed.
It’s a fact that iOS sort of cripples the usability of the tablet in certain ways and its the one biggest advantage Microsoft Surface Pro 4 over the iPad Pro.
In a recent interview with DigiTimes, Andy Tu, president of Data Express said the sales of iPad Pro in Taiwan has been very good and as a matter of fact, a lot of those who bought the tablet purchased Apple Pencil as well. According to the website:
To further promote the new tablet, Data Express is offering the iPad Pro loaded with Window 10 and Office 365 in addition to OS X.
Debating the possibility of Windows 10 on an iPad Pro
While it sounds good to have Windows 10 on such a beastly tablet, one can’t help but wonder if this report is actually true or the editorial team on that website mixed things up.
Taking a deeper look at this, one will question the possibility of this happening and of course, its legality. While some speculated that whoever buys an iPad Pro loaded with Windows 10 is being ripped off by that store, others debated if the Windows 10 could actually run natively on the iPad Pro’s A9 processor.
The possibility of a mix up can’t be overlooked. Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 looks a lot like the iPad Pro and it comes with Windows 10. Teclast X98 Pro too looks like the iPad Pro and it runs Windows 10. This leaves a lot of doubt over this report. While DigiTimes is a reputable news outlet, one can’t help but debate if this report is actually true.
