For reasons best known to you, you may wish to keep your friends list private on Facebook. The settings are there already and a lot of people already use it but if you can’t seem to figure it out, this post is for you.
It’s very easy and you may even beat yourself up for not being able to figure it out earlier after going through the simple steps explained later. Facebook keeps tweaking it’s user interface and the post I wrote on this earlier may not really be applicable anymore.
I have to warn that even though it’s possible to hide your friends list from on Facebook timeline, you may still be unable to hide mutual friends you have with the person viewing your profile. This means if you have friends in common with the person viewing your profile, they’ll still see those few mutual friends anyway. However, others remain hidden.
1. Visit your timeline
2. Scroll down and check the left sidebar for your friends list. At the top right corner, click the edit (pencil) button and select Manage Privacy.
3. Clicking this shows a pop-up box. From here, you can choose to set your friends list privacy to Only Me.
This makes your list of friends appear only to you. I told you it was easy. 🙂 In case you want to hide your whole timeline from public view, this post here is definitely gonna help.
