For quite a while, I’ve had a nagging issue using Google Plus on Google Chrome and it has been like this for a couple of months. Being an issue that isn’t widespread, a search on Google returned no useful results. Visiting Google Plus with Google Chrome on macOS Sierra works fine, but scrolling down to load more posts shows this error:
Unable to load more. Retry
Checking the same website on Safari and Mozilla Firefox works fine. I could scroll normally to load more articles.
Troubleshooting
With Google search unable to help and Google Product Forum not able to offer any reasonable assistance either, I started troubleshooting by first disabling all extensions. I have quite of number of these and I assumed one of them could be the root cause.
After disabling the extensions and refreshing plus.google.com, everything started working fine and I was able to scroll with the usual “unable to load more” error popping up.
To find out which exact extension was the problem, I started enabling them one after the other and refreshing the page each time. In the end, I found out Xtreme Download Manager integration module for Chrome (XDM Helper) was the source.
It’s now permanently disabled. I guess it’s time to look for a new download manager.
