Have you Tried Mozilla Firefox Developer Edition for 64-bit OS?

Have you Tried Mozilla Firefox Developer Edition for 64-bit OS?

Mozilla launched its developer edition of Mozilla Firefox last year but I never installed it till the 64-bit version was released a couple of weeks. Compared to the regular Mozilla Firefox, this developer edition has so many features a regular developer would want in a browser.

This special version of Firefox includes useful tools that should be helpful in creating websites and web applications and it’s targeted at developers.

The 32-bit version was a laudable project but the 64-bit version of the browser is a big improvement over the 32-bit version. This version gives you the ability to run bigger applications, resource hungry games, play 1080p videos at a flick of the button and lots more.

As expected this version performs operations not possible with the 32-bit version. According to Mozilla, “For some of the largest of these apps, a 64-bit browser means the difference between whether or not a game will run,”

Also, there’s improved security and that’s a big plus. It is reported that the new version provides a more effective Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR) as this makes it a bit more difficult for cyber-criminals to exploit your web browser through malicious web content.

If you’re a web developer, this version has a lot of features you should find very beneficial.

And for gamers, this is a new experience in web-gaming! Although Internet Explorer and Chrome already have 64-bit browsers, its important to note that this is specifically for developers and it appears Firefox is actually focused on making this browser optimized for heavy web gaming. Firefox is working with Epic Games on a web version of Unreal Engine 4.

And by the way, if you’re already using Firefox sync, you shouldn’t worry about changing your browser since you’ve got nothing to lose.
