10 Tips to Fully Utilize and Optimize your Android Smartphone

10 Tips to Fully Utilize and Optimize your Android Smartphone

You don’t necessarily have to wait till your android operating system crashes before learning the basic tips needed to keep it in good condition and there are certain features in your Android phone you might not be aware of. Maybe you’ve been using a different phone and just bought a new Android device but still trying to figure out how to make certain things work, this post explains how to make the most your Android smartphone.

10 tips to fully optimize and fully utilize your android smartphone

1. Never let your battery drain out completely

This is probably the most important because a smartphone with a battery that lasts only a few hours is as good as useless. Allowing your battery to drain out fully before recharging shortens your battery life.

2. Turn off what you don’t need

There’s no need to leave your wi-fi, bluetooth, sound and even 3G on all the time. All these things use CPU and might cripple some functions or slow your phone down.task

3. Reduce the screen brightness

I don’t think it necessary to have your phone at full brightness at night. It does saves you lots of battery power if you can reduce the brightness when you don’t really need to strain your eyes before you see the display.

4. You need a  task killer

There are certain tasks running in the background you might not really need. The more applications you have running, the more RAM is used and this slows down your phone.

5.  Calibrate with a stylus

Touch sensitivity and precision can be achieved by calibrating the screen with a sytlus instead of your finger.

6. Hibernate instead of shutting down

It takes a some time and battery power to power on and fully boot your device. It’s advisable to hibernate instead of shutting down

7. Do not leave your phone in the car

Lithium batteries  are affected by heat. Leaving your phone in your car on a hot afternoon isn’t such a good idea.

8. Install your most used apps on phone memory instead of SD card

9.  Save your battery when your phone is sleeping

Go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Wireless Settings > WiFi Sleep Policy.

Change it to ‘When screen turns off’.

10. Root your Android!

To get the most out of your device, you need to root it. This means getting access to all files and directories and customizing it the way you want. It’s similar to hacking symbian phones and I plan to write a post on Android rooting one of these days.
