4 Reasons You Should Move From Blogger To WordPress

April 3, 2013

No doubt, there are lots of blogging platforms of which blogger is the best free one around with great tools and capabilities. But if you think you would be taking blogging as a profession like I have, then you definitely need to Move from Blogger to WordPress.

why youmust move to blogger

Yes, you need to move your blog from blogger quickly to be able to enjoy lots of benefits in WordPress blogging platform. Nah, I won’t just say that and walk away without giving you convincing reasons why you need to migrate your blog. Below are the points you need to consider and you sure would agree with me.

Why You Must Move To WordPress

Below are valid reasons to fully convince you to move your blog from Blogger to WordPress as soon as possible:

1. More Control

You sure have control over your blogger blog, but you should know it is limited. Even if this has not happened to you, you must have come across blogs been deleted on blogger without the blog owners prior notice. I ran a successful blog recently on blogger. One day, I decided to delete some posts I thought didn’t fit into the niche and when I got done with deleting the posts, I was immediately welcomed with a “Your blog Has Been Deleted for Spam” message. I contacted blogger support severally but they refused restoring my blog.  All my efforts and hard-work on that blog were washed down the drain. But in WordPress, you have absolute control over the blog as it is self hosted, and you can even manage several blogs from one dashboard if you wish.

2. Better SEO

I know some people might attack me one this, but it is definitely true. Have you considered adding a meta title and description to your post in blogger? If you have, then you know how cumbersome the procedure is in adding several tags into your template whenever you make a new post. You might end up messing up with your template. Considering WordPress, you  only need to install an SEO plugin out of several options available and you can add the meta tags as you write your post. Some frameworks such as Genesis and Thesis come with their own SEO options. There are other SEO benefits in using WordPress which I won’t be able to outline here, maybe in another post.

3. Lots Of plugins

As at time of post, their are over 10,000 plugins available in wordpress repository. Isn’t that great as their is hardly a task you won’t be able to find a plugin to perform on your blog. Blogger is limited to few gadgets and that’s all about them.

4. Support and Developers Forum

Have you tried contacting blogger and you can tell how long it took them to reply, but in wordpress you only need to ask questions and for help in their support forum. There are lots of experienced people (over 62 million people currently run wordpress blogs) out there who are willing to help for free, and I believe there is no WordPress issue you come across that has not been handled and fixed on the wordpress support forum.

I guess by now you must have seen reasons with me why you should move your blog immediately over to wordpress. If you are new to blogging and wish to learn how to start a blog, then go for wordpress. There are lots of things to explore with endless blogging possibilities on wordpress. Feel free to ask any related question and drop your contributions using the comment box.

Happy Blogging.
