The Best Android Jelly Bean Phones in the Market

February 23, 2013

Representing the newest release for Android, Jelly Bean has received two key updates, and is now at version 4.2.1. Available since last November, Jelly Bean has been specifically designed to offer much faster browsing and a slicker interface for smartphone and tablet users.  Jelly Bean is particularly effective at reducing buffering and making smartphones run faster.

Key to this increase in speed is the amount of accessibility and control that can be achieved through an Android phone’s interface; it’s easier to use, and you can share information much faster using Android Beam. The Jelly Bean update similarly enables better Wi-Fi protection and other encryption features, as well as improved wireless display sharing, and a more efficient camera. In terms of the Android phones that are currently shipping with Jelly Bean, some of the best include:

HTC Droid DNA

This Verizon phone comes with Jelly Bean as standard, and benefits from its 1.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor to deliver super fast speeds. The Droid DNA is also enabled for 4G, and uses a Micro-SIM for additional storage. The phone comes with an LCD3 touchscreen offering 1080 x 1920 pixels, and a 16 GB internal memory.

 LG Nexus 4

LG NExus 4

Available via T Mobile, the LG Nexus 4 has a 1.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon processor, and is defined by its similarities to the Galaxy Nexus; a 4.7 inch screen with AMOLED resolution means that the Nexus 4 is one of the sharpest on the market, with Jelly Bean allowing it to compete at the highest end of OS speeds.

 Samsung Galaxy S III

One of the most popular phones in the world, the Galaxy S III makes the most of its dual core processor, and also benefits from an extended battery life. Over 30 million handsets have been sold in the past few months by Samsung, and in terms of lightness and HD screen power, it’s difficult to do much better than the S III; Jelly Bean makes everything run even quicker on the phone, and enables better fast motion displays.

 Samsung Galaxy Note II

This ‘phablet’ features a 5.5 inch screen and a quad core Exynos processor, making it one of the most powerful smartphones currently available. The Note II also has an 8MP camera and 2 GB of RAM. The phone is also enabled for 3G and 4G, and has the optional extra of an S Pen – other connectivity features include Bluetooth, USB, Wi-Fi, and S Beam.

 Motorola Razr i

Now boasting Jelly Bean as part of a 2013 release, the Razr i features Intel’s 2 GHz processor, and has a 4.3 inch screen that’s protected by Kevlar – the edge to edge screen also enables excellent video playback, while the phone comes with a Micro SD card memory upgrade that takes storage from 8 GB to 32 GB. The Motorola RAZR i is a good option if you want a full screen phone at a lower price than top of the range handsets, with Jelly Bean boosting the phone’s power.
