Wale Adekile
February 6, 2012

Mozilla Firefox stays on the top of my favorite web browsers list followed by Google Chrome and I’ve mastered almost all the useful shortcuts which simplify and speed up my web browsing. Shortcuts can boost your performance level especially when you’ve got loads of stuffs to do and there are so many shortcuts on Firefox. You definitely can’t know them all but  below is a compilation of the most important shortcuts I use that makes it easier surfing the web with Firefox:

F6

Use this function to quickly jump to the address bar without using the mouse or touchpad.

CTRL + TAB or CTRL + SHIFT + TAB

This lets you move forward or backward between open tabs on your browser.

CTRL + T

Open a new tab and switch to it immediately with this shortcut.

CTRL + W

Close the current tab you’re viewing.

CTRL + SHIFT + T

Just closed a tab by mistake? This restores the closed tab and you can press it as much as you want to restore all previously closed tabs.

CTRL + F

This lets you find text quicker on a web page. Using the shortcut opens the find feature where you type your search query.

CTRL + D

You can bookmark the web page you’re currently view on Firefox with this shortcut

F11

This removes all toolbars and lets you use Firefox in full screen. Press again to restore the normal view

CTRL + J

Opens the download manager window

CTRL + [PLUS] or CTRL + [MINUS] or CTRL + 0

These shorcuts zoom in, zoom out and resets the present web page back to normal view respectively

CTRL + H

This shortcut opens the browsing history on a column on the left

CTRL + B

Opens a bookmark column on the left

CTRL + K
