Hi everyone, it has been long I gave an attempt to drop my guest post here. I’m sorry for that, it was due to my tight schedule and not because I don’t to be consistent as usual but just that I couldn’t help the situation at hand.
Now, back to the business of the day, did guest blogging really work for you? I know this is a very simple question that every blogger can just answer without spending much time to think about and without bothering to use their three life lines like it is in the Who Wants to be a Millionaire game (lol). As a matter of fact, every blogger knows what it take to write a guest post that will be honourably accepted by the blog author: certain criteria must be met as stipulated by the blog author, however, I’m not here to preach about guest blogging neither am I luring you to start one today but what I’m only asking if guest blogging is working for you.
If you have started guest blogging long ago, it’s surely either to increase your blog traffic, bring about your exposure if you are new to blogging, and invariably build your backlinks ethically using JUST guest blogging.
Nonetheless, almost all blogger are aware of the current Google updates: Panda, Hummingbird and the recent penguin 2.1 update that’s seriously hitting many bloggers peradventure from unethically building links which many bloggers might have attributed to the guest blogging they ventured into.
But with this post, I am going to clear the air for you. If the rules of guest blogging are followed accordingly, you are free from whatever updates Google might decide to roll out either in favour of bloggers or in other way round. If, however, guest blogging is really working for you positively, the following would have started happening on your blog gradually.
Increase in search engine traffic
How do you feel when you publish quality content without any readers? You will definitely not be happy with that but guest blogging can increase the chance of hitting tons of traffic if taken seriously to the extent of bring quality traffic from search engines. Guest bloggers usually build their blog backlinks within a targeted period of time, and high backlinks from a reputable website/blog will increase the chance of getting quality rank on search engines and that will bring about increase in traffic from search engine which we often refer to as organic traffic.
With Google analytics free tool, you can monitor your blog search engine traffic whether there is any improvement in your blog search traffic during the period of your guest blogging or not.
Exposure
It’s quite unfortunate that many find it difficult to get exposed in the blogosphere over a period of time. It is true that the number of bloggers increase day-by-day which makes it more difficult for bloggers to get exposed on time but guest blogging is the simple shortcut every blogger needs to try out and see the positive impact of guest blogging in getting quick exposure. Quality exposure is nothing but quality traffic and that will result into quality earning which almost all bloggers are working towards.
Direct traffic
It will somehow sound rhetorical if I keep saying guest blogging brings about increase in traffic but it would be wise to understand that guest blogging increases the chance of getting direct traffic. What is direct traffic? Direct traffic is simply the traffic that comes to your website through your site or blog URL, and the chance of getting more direct traffic is very high from guest blogging. How can this happen? As a matter of fact, every blogger gives a room for a guest authors to include their blog URL in their bio section which will enable visitors to click through it and land on your blog directly if you offer quality post as a guest blogger.
Increase in incoming links
Everybody knows that when Google still placed much emphasis on PageRank (I’m not saying Google PageRank is dying ), the number one way to boost Google PageRank is to build quality backlinks. However, guest blogging and blog commenting is the most recommended way to your boost blog backlinks, and if truly you want to be free from Google constant algorithm update. Within the period of two month you can gain PageRank of 3 from Google as a result of quality backlinks from a reputable site/blog. It really takes time build ethical backlinks but with guest blogging, the chance of having reasonable number of backlink within a limited time is very high which will bring about a good Google PageRank.
Build more relationship
Getting exposed in blogosphere is not enough to be a great blogger but building a worthwhile relationship starts from guest blogging. Although some did build theirs from blog commenting, guest blogging remains the easiest way. With guest blogging, you can quickly build your relationship with the blog author which will also help your blogging journey.
Conclusion: This may look as if am luring you to start guest blogging but I’m not, I’m only telling you how important it’s to guest blog and how it can affect your blog and blogging journey positively.
