Facebook email is not new and almost everyone has it but there are still some people out there who do not even know how to activate it or if it even exists at all. Of course, every facebook user is entitled to an email address (yourname@facebook.com) which can be used normally like other emails such as gmail, yahoomail, hotmail and so on. It lacks all the robust features found with other major email providers but you still got to claim it…you might need it someday. Moreover, it’s a cool way to let your friends contact you. The post I first wrote on getting @facebook email address is now outdated as some things changed on Facebook.
Before getting your email activated, you need to fist set up a Facebook username if you haven’t.
– Go to your Account Settings
-Click on the Edit button right beside Username and enter your desired username
– Save your changes and go to Messages
If you did everything above, you should see a bar just at the top of your messages. Click on Claim your facebook email as shown below:
Your email is now set up and ready to use. Your facebook email address should be username@facebook.com and you can try sending an email from your Yahoo mail or Gmail account to check if it works or not.
